Worcester and Malvern Outdoor Group was formerly known as the “Worcester YHA (Local) Group”, however with the changes in the way the YHA is run we are now called “Worcester and Malvern Outdoor Group”, or WaMOG for short. The club is affiliated to the YHA. 

In our former incarnation we have been running weekend trips to Youth Hostels and Camping Barns for about 40 years. A weekend away is normally organized every month, in the winter travelling closer to Worcester and further away in the summer.

We also organize a camping weekend and punting/canoeing days once a year and have impromptu evening social events.

Weekends normally consist of a 12-15 mile walk on the Saturday (occasionally with a shorter option) and a shorter walk on the Sunday. Evening meals are usually taken in a local pub or in the hostel if the group is larger or on occasions we all do a bit of cooking and have a group meal.

Most weekends are booked about 2 months in advance, depending on the hostel. We normally arrange to share cars and petrol costs but you are welcome to make your own arrangements.
